Multi-Day Sea Kayaking Tours
Our New Zealand multi-day kayaking tours will get you away from the pressures of life for a few days on a true kiwi adventure! Come and immerse yourself in the marine paradise of the Bay of Islands. This is multi-day sea kayaking at its very best. Our Kayaking Adventure Tours are the Ultimate Mix of Adventure and Relaxation. Your time in paradise will be spent with a qualified and fun guide to keep you safe, well fed and show you all the good spots! Along the way we have plenty of time for exploring the Island’s numerous caves and reefs. Also snorkeling (gear supplied) with the fish, nature walks to amazing views or simply relaxing on a quiet beach. Our Bay of Islands tours offer abundant wildlife with sea birds, little blue penguins, dolphins and even orca at times. Numerous walking tracks on the Islands offer awesome views and a chance to check out many of the native birds of New Zealand (thanks to Project Island Song).
We pride ourselves on serving delicious food made out of local produce and quality New Zealand meats. Our groups are small and intimate making it the best way to experience the Islands and really soak up all it has to offer. With small groups we cater for all levels of experience from first timers to the more experienced that want to learn more and step outside their comfort zones a bit. You will be amazed at the meals we can prepare sitting on a beach while camping….. and can even prepare some seafood that we gather through the day.

Our 2 Day Kayaking/Camping adventure begins on the first morning at 9.30am at Long Beach (Russell). After introductions with everyone on the tour and packing the gear we are on the water. We will spend the day Island hopping and exploring this amazing marine park and our first stop is Roberton or Motuarohia Island. Here we will have time to explore the island, snorkel or swim. The island has significant Maori history and offers a range of recreational activities including a track to a fantastic Pa site, an educational underwater trail for snorkelers and two stunning lagoons to explore. After leaving Roberton we will head for Moturua Island for a well deserved break and a delicious lunch on a secluded beach. From here we have an hours paddle to our home for the night, the gorgeous Urupukapuka Island. With all this action we know you will be hungry, and we pride ourselves on keeping you well fed and happy with delicious meals on all our trips. Nothing tastes better after a great day Sea Kayaking than a Gourmet meal and eating it on the beach as the sun sets on our campsite. Also you do not get better views of the stars than out on the Islands. Those that have extra energy after dinner, can take a short paddle in the sheltered bay where we camp….. if it is dark enough, the glow in the dark phosphorescence in the water – will blow your mind!
Day Two will usually start with the standard magical sunrise from your tent. After breakfast we will pack up camp and the kayaks and head off for another great day on the water. On our return trip we will try and see everything we missed on the previous day. We will head towards the white sand beaches of Waewaetorea before a short paddle to Moturua Island. Here we have the opportunity to go ashore and explore the beautiful bays and beaches or walk the 4.6km loop track. This is one of the most highly rated DOC tracks in New Zealand. See where Captain Cook and Marion Du Fresne spent time and visit the WW2 observation post. And at around 4pm we will make it back to Long Beach.
Our Three Day Sea Kayaking Tour is an extension of our Two Day Sea Kayaking Tour but with that extra day we can see so much more. Having 3 days of adventure in the outdoors and two nights camping out in the islands truly gives you the time to unwind. Our 3 day New Zealand sea kayaking tour takes you to all the places and lets you enjoy everything the Two Day Tour has to offer and lots more. The extra day affords us the time to either have a relaxing day exploring islands close to where we camp or heading towards Cape Brett.
On calm days we have the opportunity to paddle towards the “Hole in the Rock” and explore Deep Water Cove. Deep Water Cove is where the Canterbury wreck is located, we can even get some mussels at Oke Bay for an entree before dinner. Another option is exploring the steep cliffs and caves of the ocean side of Urupukapuka Island. Everyone loves the second day as the kayaks are light with no camping gear in them and we can really explore the coastline up close. Along with the extra day of exploring you get an extra night camping on the islands to fully unwind. Enjoy another delicious dinner on the beach under the stars and the chance of a night paddle in the luminescent waters!
